Google integration
Otto AI is the personal assistant that runs on an Otto — a small computer you buy once and keep in your home. Connect your Google Account and it works your Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Drive on your behalf, in plain language, on hardware you own.
Gmail
Read, draft, send, triage
Ask what came in, get a thread summarized, dictate a reply, file or label what you're done with.
Calendar
Check, book, move, cancel
Ask what's on today, find a free slot, put a meeting on the right calendar, reschedule the one that slipped.
Drive
Find, read, write, organize
Pull up a document by name, summarize it, draft a new one, file it where it belongs, share it with someone.
How it works
You connect your Google Account from the Otto app on your phone or desktop, on Google's own consent screen. Nothing is connected by default, and Otto AI reaches nobody's account but yours.
From then on your Otto talks to Google's APIs directly from your home. Anything that only reads — checking your calendar, searching your mail — happens as you ask. Anything that writes — sending a message, moving an event, sharing a file — stops and asks you first, in the app, showing exactly what it is about to do. You approve it, or you don't.
Permissions
gmail.modify
Read, compose, send, and organize mail in your mailbox.
Reading alone cannot draft or send, and sending alone cannot read the thread a reply answers. This is the narrowest single scope covering all three. We deliberately do not request mail.google.com, so Otto AI cannot permanently delete your mail.
calendar
See and change events on the calendars you can access.
Booking and rescheduling is the most-asked-for feature, so read-only is not enough. The events-only scope omits the calendar-list access we need to put an event on the right one of your calendars.
drive
See, edit, create, and organize your Drive files.
The per-file scope only reaches files opened through a Google Picker, and an Otto is a device driven by voice and a companion app — there is no browser surface to run a Picker in. You also ask for files you created long before you owned an Otto, by name.
openid · email
Your email address and a stable account identifier.
Identifies which Google Account a request belongs to, so an Otto with more than one account connected acts as the right one.
Your data
The tokens that let Otto AI act on your Google Account are held encrypted on your own device. They are not stored on our servers, and the assistant is never shown them — it asks the device to make a call, and the device makes it.
Your mail, events, and files are fetched to answer the request in front of you and are not kept afterwards. We do not sell Google user data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use it to train models — ours or anyone else's.
You can disconnect the account at any time from the Otto app, which deletes the stored tokens from the device, and you can revoke access from your Google Account permissions page.
Limited use
Otto AI's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Publisher
Otto AI is built and operated by The Tokenry, Inc., which makes the Otto device and the Otto apps. Read the privacy policy, the terms of service, or get in touch. Questions about this integration go to support@myotto.ai.
