Connect your apps
Connections let Otto work with the tools you already use. Connect the apps that matter to your work, and Otto can help turn a conversation into useful action.
Two ways to connect an app
You do not need to set up every connection before talking to Otto.
Ask Otto in chat
Ask Otto to do something that needs one of your apps. For example:
Check my email for anything I need to respond to today.
or:
Look at my calendar and help me make a plan for this week.
If Otto needs an app you have not connected, it asks you to connect it in the conversation. Follow that request, sign in with the app, and return to Otto when the connection is complete.
Browse Integrations
You can also open Integrations from the sidebar and search for a tool you use. This is useful when you already know what you want to connect, or when you want to explore what Otto can work with.
Connect the tools you use most
Start with the apps you rely on every day—email, calendar, messages, project work, documents, or your customer system. Connecting your five most-used apps is often enough to make Otto meaningfully useful across your real work.
You do not need to connect everything at once. Add a connection when it gives Otto a job it could not otherwise do.
Your password stays with the app
When you connect an app, you sign in through that app's own authorization flow. Otto receives the access it needs to work with the connection; your raw password is not handed to Otto or the AI model.
Read first, ask before changing things
By default, Otto can read information from a connected app but asks before it changes something. It will ask for permission before it sends a message, edits a record, publishes something, or takes another action outside Otto.
When you trust a specific action, choose Always allow in the permission request. Otto can then perform that action in future work without asking every time. Use this for predictable, reviewed workflows—not just to make an approval prompt disappear.
The more access you give Otto, the more it can do for you. You can adjust how strictly Otto asks for permission in Settings: require approval for every action, ask before changes, or allow all actions. Keep the stricter setting when you are learning a workflow, especially for apps that can send, publish, purchase, or change important records.
